Job Description and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a talented and driven Legal Operations Specialist to help increase the Legal team’s effectiveness as we scale. We are looking for someone who gets excited (almost obsessive) about designing processes and building systems that improve efficiency. Are you an organized, extremely detail-oriented, deadline-driven, tech-savvy, quick learner who is interested in legal issues and ready to take on all that comes with a growing business? You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our legal operations, directly impacting how we work and grow.
You will work closely with the Neuralink Legal team and employees at all levels. Your objective is to support an effective and efficient Legal team through technology and process improvement.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is adaptable and collaborative, able to grow with the business, and be willing to take on tasks with varying complexity and increasing responsibility. A high level of competence, integrity, discretion and professionalism is key. This position provides ample opportunity for mentoring and growth for a roll-up-your-sleeves enthusiast.
Core Responsibilities:
- Create and improve legal processes, designing workflows that scale our business
- Ensure that all legal records are stored in secure, organized file systems to support shared knowledge and compliant record-keeping
- Manage Neuralink’s contract workflow—including document processing, electronic signatures, electronic filing, scanning, and light data processing—ensuring all contracts are properly tracked, executed, and filed in the repository
- Be the primary point of contact to internal clients to answer questions regarding legal support and contract processes, and triage incoming requests
- Proactively identify, evaluate, and implement new tools and processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Legal team
- Manage vendor relationships for the Legal team’s technology platform
- Assist with maintaining corporate calendar and tracking deadlines
- Support responses to data requests, subpoenas, or other document requests in relation to litigation, government inquiries, or other areas
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field
- Experience implementing new technology and processes
- Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and execute multiple initiatives concurrently while ensuring precision and excellence
- Proactive, resourceful self-starter with the ability to identify where support is needed, and work independently while exercising good judgment on when to seek guidance from managing attorneys
- A commitment to a “No job is too big or too small” approach to work
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities can change rapidly, with a focus on delivering results efficiently
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Excels in a collaborative environment, with ability to forge strong, trusting partnerships with non-legal colleagues
- Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise professional judgment when handling sensitive data
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience organizing and maintaining legal files, contracts or corporate records
- Prior experience at an in-house legal department or law firm
- Familiarity with legal technology, including contract system/software and workflows. Prior experience with Google Workspace (G Suite) platform preferred
- Familiarity with common contracts and clauses
- Technology-savvy, including legal technology, database software and proficiency with productivity software including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations, electronic signature and cloud storage software
Expected Compensation:
The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the following range. Your actual base pay will be determined by your job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We also believe in aligning our employees’ success with the company's long-term growth. As such, in addition to base salary, Neuralink offers equity compensation (in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSU)) for all full-time employees.
