FACILITIES SUPERVISOR (STARLINK) – 2ND SHIFT
Help power the future of global connectivity as the Facilities Supervisor on 2nd shift at SpaceX's Starlink facilities in Redmond and Woodinville. This role will lead a dynamic team of interdisciplinary technicians and oversee critical infrastructure to deliver zero unplanned disruptions and advance the mission of revolutionizing satellite internet. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of hands-on supervision experience, expertise in preventive maintenance methodologies, and a passion for innovative problem-solving to drive cost efficiencies, efficiently manage third-party vendors, and execute transformative site projects that embody SpaceX's relentless pursuit of excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead an interdisciplinary team of technicians responsible for all facilities operations (HVAC, fluids, electrical distribution, compressed air systems, plumbing, cranes, cryogenic systems, workplace infrastructure, fire suppression and alarm, janitorial, trash, and general building maintenance) at SpaceX’s Starlink facilities in both Redmond and Woodinville to ensure zero unplanned interruptions of services to the employees and customers
- Oversee and develop team of technicians, driving overall performance and effectiveness through individual coaching and development
- Manage third-party service providers, such as crane maintenance providers, to ensure services meet corporate standards and terms of contract
- Develop, plan and execute site improvement projects in accordance with overall business objectives and strategy
- Manage the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and installation of building-related infrastructure: HVAC, fluids, electrical distribution, compressed air systems, plumbing, cranes, cryogenic systems, workplace infrastructure, fire suppression and alarm, rental equipment, furniture installs, and grounds
- Develop and administer an effective and efficient periodic maintenance program for facilities
- Prioritize tasks and projects effectively to drive department efficiency and eliminate blockers to critical path through the use of CMMS and utilize operations data and metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Provide/lead on-call 24x7 support at all times
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 5+ years of experience in facilities supervision, directing facilities related projects and providing hands-on mechanical and electrical support
- 1+ years of experience with building management and automated facilities monitoring systems and processes including: HVAC Systems, fluid plumbing systems, high-power electrical systems, telecommunications infrastructure, fire suppression systems, generators, above fuel storage systems, and other facility and grounds requirements
- 1+ years of experience implementing maintenance management methodologies such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering or other related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
- Expertise in eliminating failure through preventative maintenance and root cause analysis
- Experience managing budgets
- Experience managing third-party vendors
- Experience negotiating contracts and comparing service costs to achieve maximum value
- Experience with asset management software
- High attention to detail and cleanliness standards
- Ability to work independently with little direction
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Ability to anticipate needs and develop innovative solutions for continuous improvement
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Position requires working at both our Redmond, WA and Woodinville, WA locations. Must be comfortable commuting between both sites and supporting teams at both locations.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support of all critical activities and emergency situations
- Position occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed while mainly overseeing 2nd shift operations
- Must be comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
